Hamlin’s 2014 Extra Mile Award was given to Dave Maynard, Hamlin Dog Control Officer in recognition of his tireless dedication serving as the Town of Hamlin Dog Control Officer.
Due to his love for these animals, he has gone above and beyond normal duties, expanding the dog shelter, creating a Facebook page, organizing events like adoption days, fundraisers, pet parades, and supply drives.
He has also developed relationships with The Mia Foundation, PAWS, Rochester Animal Shelter and dog control officers in other communities. The love and time he devotes to the animals and the shelter has made a positive impact on the residents and pets not only in our community but in the whole United States, according to Extra Mile Committee members.
