Greece Special Police seeks volunteers
The Greece Special Police Department is currently accepting applications from persons interested in serving as a volunteer. The Greece Special Police are New York State certified part-time peace officers upon successful completion of the New York State Peace Officers Academy. The Greece Special Police assist the Town of Greece Police Department with pedestrian and traffic control during emergencies and special events, patrols of parks and schools, and various other duties as requested.
All mandatory equipment, uniforms, and training are provided to Special Police Officers. The selection process includes interviews, a background investigation, and physical fitness testing. A viable candidate must: be of good moral character; be physically able to perform the duties of a Special Police Officer; have a favorable driving record; live in Monroe County, New York; be at least 21 years of age; be customer-service orientated and be willing and able to serve at least 12 hours per month.
