New Ogden Police Department Chief

Christopher Mears is surrounded by his sons and his wife during his swearing-in as the Town of Ogden’s new Chief of Police during the regular meeting of the Ogden Town Board, Wednesday, June 10. Mears thanked the town and his family for their support during the 20 years he has served the department. He replaces retiring Chief Douglas Nordquist.

Christopher Mears is surrounded by his sons and his wife during his swearing-in as the Town of Ogden’s new Chief of Police during the regular meeting of the Ogden Town Board, Wednesday, June 10.

Mears thanked the town and his family for their support during the 20 years he has served the department.

He replaces retiring Chief Douglas Nordquist.

Retiring Ogden Police Chief Douglas Nordquist and Ogden Supervisor Gay Lenhard look on while Ogden Police Officers Joe Miller and Travis Gray, representing the Ogden Police Club, Ogden’s police union, present Nordquist with his service pistol, badge and police ID during the June 10 meeting of the Ogden Town Board.

Nordquist retired after serving 11 years as Ogden Chief of Police. Officer Miller used the words, “respect, courtesy, honesty, integrity and fairness,” to describe the outgoing chief.  “I could not have asked for a better chief to work under,” Officer Miller said.
