“August Challenge” at Lakeview a huge success

For the past seven years, Lakeview Community Church has held an “August Challenge” to benefit the Greece Ecumenical Food Shelf.

This year’s goal was to collect 550 cans of tuna fish. With the help of family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers, the donations more than doubled the challenge goal in that 1,221 cans of tuna fish were collected. Many worked together to make it happen, including the congregation, neighbors of the church, friends of Unionville Station in Hilton, and monetary gifts from the employees of Union Scrap.

The 1,221 cans of donated tuna fish will go to the Greece Ecumenical Food Shelf where Lakeview Community Church is known as “The Little Church with a Big Heart.”
