Monroe County Sheriff Department swears in newest recruits
On September 27, Sheriff Patrick O’Flynn swore thirty-one new members of police bureau recruit class #63 into office. This class consists of a wide variety of backgrounds including individuals with jobs in the military, a banker, and trainees with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. These men and women will undergo six months in the academy and then three months of field training before they graduate from the police academy. They will join the rest of their recruit classmates from other agencies for the 24-week academy at the Public Safety Training Facility.
