Canal Clean Sweep in Brockport and Earth Day Celebration
On Sunday, April 22, the Village of Brockport will host the annual Canal Clean Sweep along the Erie Canal, picking up trash along both the north and south sides of the embankment between Park Avenue and Smith Street. This is a family friendly event, open to all ages. To volunteer, meet at the Welcome Center at 11 Water Street at 1 p.m. Garbage bags and gloves will be provided, and the NYS Canal Corp will provide free t-shirts to the first 50 event participants. Volunteer registration is appreciated but not necessary at http://www.brockportny.org Clean Sweep Event. The Clean Sweep will end at the Corbett Park Pavilion where volunteers can get some water, a quick snack, and join in the Earth Day celebration if interested.
Earth Day celebration
The Earth Day Celebration, hosted by several families in the village, will take place at the Corbett Park Pavilion at Smith and Clark Streets on Sunday, April 22. The celebration will include a make and take upcycled craft, pine cone bird feeder creation, composting demonstrations, information on reduce, reuse, recycle, and a Save Our Environment post card station. This free event is open to all and will take place between 2 and 4 p.m.
