Emergency work is being done to reinforce the south embankment of the Erie Canal just west of Manitou Road in Ogden. A recent inspection found that erosion caused by Larkin Creek which runs adjacent to, and under, the Erie Canal, had created a hazard. This photo shows steel sheeting being installed into the embankment to prevent further erosion and ensure it can withstand the pressure of a watered up Canal.
