The Town of Sweden has ordered Splash Pad equipment that will be delivered and installed at the Sweden Town Park, Redman Road in the spring. The $233,000 project is being funded in part by an $85,000 CDBG grant. A donor had committed an additional $80,000. Early last week, the donor notified the town through the Sweden Community Foundation that he was willing to fund the balance of the project, bringing his donation to $148,000.
The Sweden Community Foundation has worked diligently to help the Town of Sweden improve and expand recreational facilities. The Splash Pad features several water play elements designed to include children in wheelchairs. It goes hand-in-hand with the accessible playground installed at the Town Park this fall.
