Gathering together at Christmas was extra special for the Barchet family this year, thanks to Tops Friendly Markets.
During the month of September, Tops celebrated Family Meals Month with a contest called Home for the Holidays. From the Tops website, individuals could enter to win a $500 Tops gift card and a $1,000 Southwest or Delta Air Lines gift card to help bring family members home to share a meal together during the holidays. During the sweepstakes, participants received an extra entry for each participating Tops branded item purchased.
The Barchet family from Kendall was one of three winners chosen at the end of the sweepstakes. “When we entered the contest I never imagined we’d be selected,” said Ken Barchet. Not only were they able to bring home their son who lives in Boston, Massachusetts, along with his wife and granddaughter for the holidays, but also their son who lives in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
“Both our son and his fiance were able to travel home to visit for the holidays.” Their son’s birthday also happens to be between Christmas and New Year’s so the family was able to surprise Dan with a birthday party as well. “I am so thankful to Tops Markets for this prize,” Barchet said.
