American Legion Auxiliary Unit #330 is trying something new this year called Auxiliary Team Building Events. Each month they choose a theme and spend a few hours doing an activity related to that theme. January’s theme was Military Creativity. Shown in the picture is Auxiliary member Kathy Smith explaining and demonstrating pocket flags. These flags, once completed, will be sent to the military in their care packages. Attached to the flag with a pin is a short note saying, “This flag was made for you and the string was knotted as a prayer was said for your safe return home.” During the winter months the Auxiliary will combine their monthly meeting with the team building events making it easier for members to do both at one time. Upcoming themes include: shut-in projects in Feburary; Mardi Gras in March; Tea Party in April; and Gardening Party in May.
