A special display on the life and legacy of Joseph Harris will be on display at the Chili Public Library through the end of August in celebration of the 140th anniversary of Harris Seeds. The items on display are from the collection of Carole Thoms and cover everything from why Joseph Harris chose to settle in Gates in 1849, his foray into publishing, the first Harris’ Moreton Farm Seeds catalogue in 1879, and how the business grew and changed through the years as control passed from one generation to the next.
