ZipKrooz erected at Community Build event
It started as a plea from Mary Trimble for better playground equipment and ended with a Community Build on Saturday, October 5, at Brockport’s Barry Street Playground. Mary said it was the best day of her life!
A ZipKrooz, which is a two-way zipline that allows for continuous zooming action, was installed with the guidance of Nathan Emery of Parkitects. The Brockport Department of Public Works set the groundwork and more than 30 Brockport College students and neighbors erected the new apparatus.
We would like to thank Wegmans for providing food all day, Pi Kappa Phi and Alpha Phi Alpha for volunteering along with other community members, and the Brockport Village Board for their support.
A ribbon cutting is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Monday, October 14. Come out and enjoy the ZipKrooz and all nine parks in Brockport. For information, visit http://www.brockportny.org/community/village-parks.
