The Parma Public Library is now open for browsing and borrowing
The Parma Public Library is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, for browsing and borrowing.
It was a confusing and heartbreaking day on March 16, 2020 when the library was forced to close its doors to the public and send its staff to work-from-home.
The library staff is back and the new books that have been ordered are now on the shelves. More new titles by popular authors are coming in daily and the staff is working to get them processed and into the hands of library patrons.
For book lovers who do not yet feel comfortable going into a library setting or who just like the idea of contactless front door pickup, the Parma Public Library is still offering this service. Any Monroe County Library Card holder can call the Parma Public Library at 392-8350 between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. and tell the staff what items they would like for pick-up. The staff will fill their order for books, books on CD, movie and series DVDs, and music CDs and call the patron back to arrange a pick-up time.
While in-library programming is still not a viable option, a strong virtual program agenda has developed at the Parma Public Library. Patrons can go to www.parmapubliclibrary.org and sign up for a live ZOOM storytime with Miss Amy, the children’s librarian. They can also check out Miss Alison’s family craft offerings on facebook.com/parmapubliclibrary.
The Parma Public Library welcomes patrons to wear a mask and come explore the wealth of new materials for adults, teens, and children.
