LaPierre and Halquist announce candidacies for Brockport Village Board

Brockport Village Trustees John LaPierre and Shawn Halquist have officially announced their candidacies for re-election in the September 15 Village election. Originally scheduled for June 16, the election was postponed by Governor Cuomo due to COVID-19. 

John LaPierre has been a Village Trustee since 2013 and was appointed as Deputy Mayor in June 2018. Shawn Halquist was appointed as Village Trustee in June 2018, when Bill Andrews retired, and elected to complete the term in 2019. They are running on the Revitalize Brockport ticket. 

The Village election is Tuesday, September 15, 2020. Polls will be open from noon until 9 p.m. at the Village Court, 49 State Street, Brockport. 

Absentee voting applications must be mailed to Monroe County Board of Elections no later than September 8 or submitted in person by September 14. Completed ballots must be postmarked by September 14 and received no later than September 22, or personally delivered to Monroe County Board of Elections by the close of polls on election day, September 15.
