SGNY hosts Hymn Sing on October 10

Southern Gospel NY (SGNY), led by Bob and Joyce Spamer, is holding a Hymn Sing on Saturday, October 10, 3 p.m., at Spencerport Bible Church, 1948 North Union Street, Spencerport. Two guest performing groups, The Hyssongs and The Torchmen, are planning to attend, and all can join together in singing the hymns.

The Hyssongs, comprised of Dell, Susan, and Richard Hyssong, from Maine, have been singing together as a family for more than 23 years. Their energetic ministry combines family vocal harmony, humor, and brass instruments (trumpet and trombone) to delight audiences with their Christ-centered message, shared through the powerful medium of music. The family’s classical music background, along with their harmony and specific chord structures, give them a unique sound that has made quite an impact on audiences.

SGNY also hopes to have The Torchmen coming from Canada for the Hymn Sing if travel across the border is allowed by October. Canada’s most recognizable male quartet, The Torchmen are known for a traditional Southern sound, consistent ministry, and enviable longevity of 50 years. Mike Moran is the patriarch of this Grammy-nominated and Gospel Music Association Canada Award-winning quartet.

If The Torchmen are unable to attend, the Hymn Sing will proceed with just The Hyssongs.

Southern Gospel NY and Spencerport Bible Church are taking every possible precaution to make this a safe place to come out and enjoy some fellowship.

Tickets are required because of limited seating. Proceeds will be given to the guest performers to help cover their traveling expenses. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door. A group special is available for 10 or more tickets. Send a check or money order to Southern Gospel NY, 3250 Big Ridge Road, Spencerport, NY 14559, or go to www.sgny.net and order using PayPal.
