Young professionals organizations host online candidate forums

The Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce Future Leaders Advisory Council (FLAC) Advocacy Committee, Rochester Young Professionals, Rochester Black Young Professionals, RocCity Coalition, and United Way Emerging Leaders Society are uniting to host a weekly non-partisan forum for young professionals to directly engage in conversation with local candidates for office.

Joseph Sayre and Alanna Stage, co-chairs of FLAC, said, “With Election Day on the horizon, it’s important to know where candidates stand on issues that will affect our community. The united front of young professional organizations presenting these conversations is evidence of our generation’s determination and collaborative spirit. We are all dedicated to a better tomorrow.”

A Conversation with a Candidate series takes place every Wednesday at 8 p.m. on both Zoom and Facebook Live via the ROC Future Leaders page, https://www.facebook.com/rocfutureleaders.

A Conversation with Mike Barry, Republican Candidate for NY’s 56th Senate District, was held September 16 and is available for viewing online. A Conversation with Jeremy Cooney, Democratic Candidate for NY’s 56th State Senate District, will be held on September 23.
