Two Sweden election districts change sites for November 3

Voters in Sweden election districts 7 and 9 will vote at the Sweden Town Park Lodge, 4745 Redman Road on November 3. The change was made to help prevent potential crowding at the Sweden Town Hall and the Sweden Clarkson Community Center. Voter turnout is expected to be heavy in the presidential election and coupled with the COVID-19 pandemic, moving two districts to the Lodge will help reduce lines and ease social distancing.

Districts 1, 3, 4, and 11 vote at the Sweden Town Hall, 18 State Street. Districts 2, 5, and 6 vote at the Brockport Central School, 40 Allen Street. Districts 8, 10, and 12 vote at the Community Center, 4927 Lake Road. Districts 7 and 9, voting at the Lodge for the first time, include much, but not all, of Sweden Village (7) and the northwest quadrant of the town (9). The Monroe County Board of Elections website (www.monroecounty.gov/elections) has all the most up-to-date information where voters may check their registration, their voting location, check on the status of an absentee ballot, and view a sample ballot.

Election day voting will take place from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. All voters and poll workers are required to wear masks while at the polls.
