Explore Monroe County Parks with 4-H Landmark Scavenger Hunt
With youth and adults spending much of their day in front of screens, it is important to take time to step away. The Monroe County Parks: Landmark Scavenger Hunt, offered by Monroe County 4-H, is a way to do just that. Along with getting outdoors, participants can also experience Monroe County and all the beauty the parks have to offer.
To participate in the free Landmark Scavenger Hunt, visit at least four Monroe County Parks, and have youths fill out the passport (available for download at https://bit.ly/3juTPRn). Those visiting more than four parks can record them on the back page. Return completed passports by Tuesday, November 10, to the Monroe County Cornell Cooperative Extension Office, 2449 St. Paul Boulevard, Rochester, NY 14617, or email to Destiny Draggett, dpd66@cornell.edu. Youths who visit at least four parks will receive a Park Ranger Award and an entry into the grand prize drawing, donated by Runnings of Brockport.
4-H Program Leader, Susan Coyle, shared, “We are thrilled to offer this activity to all families in Monroe County. During this time that many people are connected to computers more than ever, it is important to take time to enjoy nature. The Monroe County Parks system has a wide array of landmarks to enjoy and learn about. This ties in perfectly with the 4-H Pillar of Healthy Living, encouraging families to stay distanced while being physically active and learning more about the world around them.”
The Monroe County 4-H Program is offered through Cornell Cooperative Extension to the youth of Monroe County. Learn more at http://monroe.cce.cornell.edu/4-h-youth-development.
