Volunteers sought to assist with COVID testing in Orleans County
Orleans County has developed a plan to provide free COVID-19 testing for asymptomatic residents at the 4-H Fairgrounds, 12690 State Route 31, Albion, on Wednesdays in December and January, from 1 to 4 p.m. The first testing clinic is scheduled for Wednesday, December 16.
The Orleans County Emergency Management Office is looking for 30 to 40 volunteers willing to provide time each week at the clinic for the months of December and possibly January. Anyone can volunteer and effectively help out with the effort, regardless of skill set. All necessary personal protective equipment will be provided for volunteers. For those who don’t want to deal with the public directly, there are other ways to volunteer, such as data input or calling residents with their test results. To ensure a level of consistency, individuals are sought who can be available each afternoon the test site is open.
Those interested in volunteering can email justin.niederhofer@orleanscountyny.gov or call 589-4414.
