Registration underway for Sunnking’s 2021 e-Scrap for Camp fundraiser

Brockport-based electronics recycler Sunnking has launched registration for its 2021 e-Scrap for Camp fundraiser. The program recycles unwanted company electronics to raise money for Camp Good Days and Special Times, a non-profit organization that aims to improve the quality of life for children, adults, and families whose lives have been affected by cancer.

“We want to provide the greatest return to the local kids that are unfortunately adversely affected by cancer and needing outside activities when it’s really hard to get out and do them,” said Adam Shine, Vice President of Sunnking. “Together, with our business partners, we’re focused on making this the biggest and best fundraising year we’ve seen.”

Businesses and organizations in the Buffalo and Rochester areas are encouraged to sign-up to collect electronics from their employees, friends, and family members for two weeks. Sunnking provides boxes to gather those devices and offers free, contactless delivery and pickup. For every pound of electronics recycled from participating organizations during the fundraiser, a portion of the proceeds is donated to Camp Good Days to fund future programs.

“We feel incredibly privileged during this time to announce our partnership with Sunnking for the 11th year,” said Lisa Booz, WNY regional director of Camp Good Days & Special Times. “The continuation of our programs through the pandemic is largely thanks to Sunnking’s exceptional efforts and all the local companies taking part.”

In 2020, 345 businesses contributed as Sunnking gifted a check worth $11,761 to the non-profit. More than $114,000 has been donated throughout the program’s existence.

To participate, businesses must register online at eScrapforCamp.com by March 5. Collections will begin March 29 in Rochester and May 3 in Buffalo. For a list of recyclable materials, visit www.sunnking.com/acceptable-materials.
