No decision made yet on 2021 Spencerport Carnival

The Spencerport Volunteer Firemen’s Association would like to update the community on the status of the annual carnival. We are grateful for the many messages from people who are anxiously waiting to hear whether we will be having an event this year. Throughout the pandemic, we could not be more appreciative of our community’s generous support and understanding. The Firemen’s Association relies heavily on this event as one of our largest and most important fundraisers. We spend months preparing for the carnival and the funds raised during this event are used to help us maintain our 100% volunteer department.

Throughout the past few months, the leadership of the Association has been in conversation with our ride provider, Hammerl Amusements, on the feasibility of holding a carnival this year. No decision has been made at this time, however, given the current pandemic restrictions that are still in effect state-wide, the Firemen’s Association is exploring other fundraising options in the event that the carnival cannot proceed this year.

A decision to host a carnival will be made at the end of April and we are hopeful that restrictions and guidance surrounding the pandemic will be favorable to allowing this widely attended community event. We will keep everyone updated through our social media platforms and our website.

Thank you for your continued support for the members of your 100% volunteer fire department. Please be safe, and stay healthy.

Chris Damon, President
Spencerport Volunteer Firemen’s Association
