Long Range Transportation Plan 2045 released for public review

The Genesee Transportation Council (GTC), the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for the Genesee-Finger Lakes Region, released the full draft Long Range Transportation Plan for the Genesee-Finger Lakes Region 2045 (LRTP 2045) and Transportation Air Conformity statement for final public review and comment.

The purpose of the plan is to establish transportation priorities and strategic direction for the nine-county Genesee-Finger Lakes region. Federal, state, and local governments will use LRTP 2045 to guide transportation investment decision making in our region over the next 25 years.

The full draft plan is a result of an assessment of the current transportation system, emerging issues and opportunities, recommendations, and community feedback throughout the process. In addition to the recommendations, the draft LRTP 2045 contains a financial plan with projected revenues to implement the plan and performance measures to evaluate progress.

As part of its transportation planning process, GTC has prepared a draft Transportation Conformity Statement for LRTP 2045 and the 2020-2024 Transportation Improvement Program for public review. This statement demonstrates that the region’s transportation improvements are not expected to make the region’s air quality worse.

Individuals may access the draft plan and/or the conformity statement and submit comments online by visiting www.publicinput.com/LongRangeTransportationPlan. If unable to access via the internet, individuals may call the GTC office at 585-232-6240 to make other arrangements to view the draft plan.
