On Saturday, April 17, the Riga Recreation Department spearheaded the Monroe County Parks “Pick Up The Parks” program at the Churchville Park. This program was started over 10 years ago and its intent is to clean the parks after a year of weather damage as well as pick up trash from lodge usage. Fourteen participants from the community, including the Churchville-Chili School District/Churchville Lions LEO Club, spent three hours cleaning up the vast Churchville Park area. Snacks and a raffle of gift certificates to local businesses were provided by the Riga Recreation Department and Churchville Lions and given to participants for giving their time to this park.
