There is simply NO excuse for abuse and neglect while they have Vanessa in custody. That is the first and foremost point I want to make. Neither is there any excuse for keeping her this long, since they have not made a successful case against her, from what I understand–that is, her accuser cannot identify Vanessa as the dog that bit her. So keeping this poor animal, who cannot speak for herself, in substandard conditions while she deteriorates in mental, social, and physical health is atrocious. The handling of this case reflects very poorly on the judge, attorney, complainant, and those who are supposed to be caring for the dog. And none of this reflects well on Ogden at all.
