Hamlin invites public input on Local Waterfront Plan
The Town of Hamlin is inviting the public to participate in the update and development of its Local Waterfront Revitalization Plan (LWRP). This plan is being prepared to identify issues and opportunities concerning local waterfront areas and identify potential projects and policies that will protect and enhance these locations. The town has received a grant from NYS to update its plan, with anticipation that this will lead to funding for future maintenance and improvement projects through the NYS LWRP program. The public is invited to provide input regarding issues and opportunities related to environmental concerns and economic development around the Lake Ontario Shoreline region and upland areas.
Due to ongoing COVID-19 concerns, there will be a “drop-in” style meeting on Wednesday, May 19, at Hamlin Beach State Park, Pavilion #3. It will be held between the hours of 1 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. These two sessions will be formatted to encourage one-on-one discussions with the committee. Maps and visuals will be spread around the room to allow for social distancing. If anyone is interested in participating but uncomfortable attending the public meeting, information and opportunities for online feedback will be offered through the project website,
HamlinLWRP.org.
