It is possible to maintain the safety of local residents, while still exercising compassion and understanding. This should have never gone this far, and what happened to that dog is nothing short of disgraceful, with personal relationships influencing local officials. I am grateful there has been a resolution which allows Vanessa to live and recover from the mistreatment inflicted upon her by Ogden, and hope her case can lead to changes in policy from this point forward.
