The Brockport Kiwanis Club held its annual Read Around the World event on May 22 at Seymour Library. The event was well-attended and supported by club members – including Kiwanis Lieutenant Governor Heather Henderson – the Brockport Police Department, and library staff. Guest readers were Brockport School Superintendent Sean Bruno, Brockport Police Chief Mark Cuzzupoli, and club member Brigitte Duschen, whose husband Charlie was instrumental in planning and conducting this event in the past. The Police K-9 unit was there, and the children got to greet and pet the police dog and ask the officers questions. Chief Cuzzupoli’s outreach message to the children emphasized that law enforcement exists to help all of us every day. The event came to a close with the annual ice cream social.
