Milling and paving work began June 21 and will continue over the course of several weeks to resurface the travel lanes along Route 531 between Route 259 (Union Street) and the 531 Terminus at Route 36. During this time, single-lane closures and shoulder lane closures will be in place to accommodate paving activities.
Motorists should expect minor delays and build extra travel time into their schedules. Paving work is weather dependent.
Motorists are also urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
