International Taste Festival brings flavors of the world to the fairgrounds

A brand-new festival promises to fill the Expo Center at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse with the sights, sounds, and tastes of the world’s many cultures. The new International Taste Festival, November 12 through 14, aims to expose people to some of the best aspects of the many nations of the Earth in an entertaining way.

Event promoter Stephanie Pestillo of SP Consulting said, “The International Taste Festival will bring together many traditions, cultures, and regions of the world, all at one location – for all to enjoy! We welcome you to attend this event with family and friends and have the opportunity to experience: Foods of the Americas, Asian Creations, Pan African Cuisine, Tastes of Europe, and Middle Eastern Treats.”

Fair Director Troy Waffner said, “We’re excited to welcome this new festival to our fairgrounds, especially because it showcases the wonderful diversity of our community. It’s also another sign that the fairgrounds is coming back strongly as a destination for top events and as a major contributor to the economy of Central New York.”

Performances scheduled include a Vietnamese dance group, Irish dancers, Middle Eastern performers, Pan-African drumming, and a celebration of Diwali, the festival of lights. Vendors will also span the world’s food and beverage choices, offering $2 sample-sized items allowing patrons to sample many unique flavors along with regular-sized offerings.

Admission to the festival is $5 by advance sale, $10 at the door. Children 10 and under are admitted free. Advance sale tickets will be available beginning October 1. Parking is free. Updated information will be available on the festival’s Facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/
