OVERNIGHT CLOSURES EXPECTED THIS WEEK FOR I-390/I-490 INTERCHANGE IN THE TOWN OF GATES, MONROE COUNTY
The New York State Department of Transportation is advising motorists to expect the following overnight lane and ramp closures at the Interstate 390 and Interstate 490 interchange in the Town of Gates to facilitate ongoing construction work. Closures are expected to begin at 10 p.m. each night and lifted by 6 a.m. the following morning.
- On Monday, July 19, the westbound travel lanes of I-490 at the I-390 interchange and the on-ramp from I-390 north to I-490 west will close to all traffic. Motorists will be detoured to Route 390 north to exit at Lyell Avenue and return to I-490 west via the southbound on-ramps from Lyell Ave.
- On Tuesday, July 20, the ramp from State Route 390 south to I-490 west will close. Traffic will be detoured south to exit at Chili Avenue and return to I-490 west via the northbound on-ramp at Chili Ave.
- On Wednesday, July 21, and Thursday, July 22, the southbound lanes of Route 390 will close between Lyell Avenue and I-490. Traffic will be detoured using Lyell Avenue and Mount Read Boulevard to access I-390 south via I-490 west.
All work is weather dependent and subject to schedule changes.
Motorists are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
