Hilton Firemen’s Carnival 2021
Rain forced the cancelation of the Hilton Carnival on Saturday, July 17. “We are always second-guessing ourselves when making a decision like canceling the last night of our fundraiser due to Mother Nature. When we watched Salmon Creek rise [Saturday] between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., it was clear that it was going to overflow the banks and it was time to start assisting Gillette Amusements with removing the rides from the soon to be flooded field,” the Hilton Fire Department posted on Facebook. These photos show that the department made the right call. Steve Bauman, Steve Bauman Jr., Jim Bauman, Bob Floyd, Ben Floyd, and Bill Zarpentine provided equipment and assistance. Members of the community lined up on Monday, July 19, to help the department recover costs by purchasing unsold food items. Photos from the Hilton Fire Department’s Facebook page.
