Disco-themed “Boogie Down Brunch” at the OFC Creations Theater Center
OFC Creations Theatre Center will be presenting “Boogie Down Brunch” featuring Hits of the 1970s by Jason Ostrowski. Live, in-person performances will be Sunday, August 22, at 10:30 a.m. and 12:15 p.m.
A tribute to one of the most groovy decades of music, the 1970s, this 70-minute show takes place in the OFC Creations Theatre Center’s lounge set at tables and chairs for viewing Ostowski as he plays the piano, sings, and welcomes the audience back to live entertainment. Hit musical numbers will include “American Pie,” “Hotel California,” “Oh, What a Night (December ‘63),” “Old Time Rock and Roll,” and many more.
Ticket price includes brunch from Tasteful Connections – breakfast sandwich, potatoes, muffins, and bottomless coffee, tea, and hot chocolate, as well as poured water. For an additional charge, the bar will be serving mimosas (champagne & orange juice), poinsettias (champagne & cranberry juice), mocha frappe, caramel frappe, Capri Suns, orange juice, and cranberry juice.
Ostrowski was born and raised in Rochester. At age eight, he began his journey into the world of music with piano lessons. He has played for rock bands, disco bands, the occasional piano bar, and cabaret acts. In 2006, his practice paid off and landed him a standby role as Peter in John Doyle’s Tony Award winning revival of Company on Broadway. Jason has also worked at The Walt Disney World Resort, performing as Baloo the Bear in Journey Into the Jungle Book, as the Drum Major at EPCOT with the Spirit of America Fife and Drum Corps, and most recently as Bruce the Shark and Gill the moor fish in Finding Nemo the Musical – a dream come true for a boy who grew up in love with Disney.
In 2007, he toured the country with Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Whistle Down the Wind. In February 2014, Ostrowski finished up performing in the Toronto Premiere of the new 25th anniversary production of Les Miserables after being on tour with the show for three years. He has appeared on television in Bull, FBI Most Wanted, and A Crime to Remember. He also hosts an online variety show called “Jason O’s Variatine Show,” a combination of music, comedy, and special guests.
