Chili American Legion Unit 1830 Auxiliary announces 2021 Girls State delegate

The Chili American Legion Unit 1830 Auxiliary’s 2021 delegate for the Empire Girls State program was Audrey Booth. Audrey is entering her senior year at Churchville-Chili High School.

The American Legion Auxiliary Girls State program provides an opportunity for superior high school women who have completed their junior year to experience the “nitty gritty” of state government processes – the chance to live outside the text book. It is a chance to plunge head-first into democracy, develop leadership skills, and create the foundation for informed and responsible world citizenship.

This is an intense one-week program (held online for 2021). Delegates receive special instruction in parliamentary procedure and organize themselves into two political parties. They campaign, hold rallies, and ultimately vote to elect city, county, and state officials.

Audrey accomplished the offices of county executive and press secretary for her county.
