Race to benefit Rochester Rotary Sunshine Camp

Rochester Rotary will hold its third annual Sunshine Camp Trail Mix race to benefit children with disabilities who attend Rochester Rotary Sunshine Camp.

The Sunshine Camp Trail Mix event will take place Sunday, October 10, at Rochester Rotary Sunshine Camp, a fully accessible summer camp located at 809 Five Points Road in Rush. Previously only a 5K race, this year’s event will feature both a 5K and a 10K course.

In addition to supporting children and young adults with disabilities, participants also will have an exclusive opportunity to see some of the 157 acres of this private camp – through a mix of paved sidewalks and natural dirt trails.

“For nearly 100 years, Rochester Rotary Sunshine Camp has been the only local camp of its kind that gives children with special needs unique overnight camping experiences,” said Tracey Dreisbach, executive director, Rochester Rotary. “We encourage the community to take part in this event and to help children with disabilities just be kids while at summer camp, without any barriers to fun.”

Registration must be done in advance as no walk-in registrations will be allowed. To register for the Sunshine Camp Trail Mix 5K & 10K or to learn about sponsorship opportunities, visit trailmixrun.sunshinecamp.org.
