Sweden rabies clinic vaccinates over 250 pets
On August 14, the Town of Sweden’s annual rabies clinic vaccinated more than 250 pets. The clinic was held at the Sweden/Clarkson Community Center for the second year, a venue that works well for both volunteers and pet owners.
Local veterinarian Allen Edwards and staff performed the vaccinations. Runnings donated bottled water for the volunteers and treats for the pets. The event was organized by Councilperson Rhonda Humby and Dog Control Officers Dave Maynard and Caroline Thompson.
“It’s so important to the health and safety of our community that pets are vaccinated against rabies,” Humby said. Sweden’s 2022 rabies clinic will likely be held on a Saturday in mid-August.
