Newman Riga Library Centennial Celebration

The Newman Riga Library, 1 South Main Street, Churchville, is holding a Centennial Celebration on Saturday, September 18, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., on the library lawn. In case of inclement weather, the celebration will move to Cobblestone Hall, 22 West Buffalo Street, Churchville.

Entertainment begins at 11 a.m. with the Senior Strummers Mountain Dulcimer Group playing music of the 1920s. The Centennial Ceremony begins at noon with speakers, library memories, winners of the public speaking contest, and cake. There will be music after the ceremony by Steve Brew of the Brew School of Music. Other event activities include: Barton’s Parkside Hots Food Truck, free snow-cones and popcorn, oversized games (Jenga, Kerplunk, Connect 4), “Color Newman Riga” coloring contest, Bubblez the Clown, Pre-View Book Sale (with purchase of library centennial tote bag for $10), and basket raffle.
