OFC Creations is presenting A Golden Girls Christmas Carol The Musical from December 3 through 31. Based on the 1980s sitcom, The Golden Girls are played by a cast of male actors with a brand new storyline.
Set in 2021, the story follows Dorothy, Blanche, and Rose, who are excited to finally get out of quarantine and get glammed up for the Miami Community Center’s Christmas Pageant. Sophia, however, is grouchy from being cooped up and dishes out some zingers while refusing to embrace the holiday season. Forced to face her selfish ways, she encounters three celebrity ghosts who lead her through her past, present, and future. The three spirits attempt to fill Sophia with Christmas spirit and get her to the pageant. The musical comedy will feature a range of parody holiday tunes sharing what is sure to be a very golden Christmas.
OFC Creations presented Thank You For Being A Friend: The Golden Girls Musical in April 2019 with three weekends of sold-out performances. A Golden Girls Christmas Carol stars the same actors, reprising their roles: Hunter Ekberg as Rose, Shawn Gray as Sophia, Eric Vaughn Johnson as Dorothy, and Eric Schutt as Blanche.
Live performances will take place at the OFC Creations Theatre Center, 3450 Winton Place, Rochester, on Friday, December 3 at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, December 4 at 7:30 p.m.; Sunday, December 5 at 2 p.m.; Friday, December 10 at 7:30 p.m.; Sunday, December 12 at 2 p.m.; Friday, December 17 at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, December 18 at 7:30 p.m.; Sunday, December 19 at 2 p.m.; Wednesday, December 29 at 7:30 p.m.; Thursday, December 30 at 7:30 p.m.; and Friday, December 31 at 9 p.m. The musical is appropriate for ages 13 and up.
