Sweden sets several public hearings for November 30

The Town of Sweden will hold public hearings on seven different topics at a November 30 meeting that begins at 6 p.m. The first public hearing is scheduled for 6:15 p.m. and pertains to a law limiting the use of tobacco and cannabis on town-owned property. The law prohibits the use of all cannabis products on all town-owned property; tobacco use would be prohibited at the Community Center and Town Park, but allowed in designated areas at the Town Hall, Highway Garage, and cemeteries.

Five public hearings will be held concurrently at 6:45 p.m. pertaining to amendments to the zoning code, solar farm code, wind energy code, and battery storage facility code. During this time slot, the Town Board will also hear comments regarding a new code defining decommissioning plans.

The final public hearing will be held at 7:30 p.m. regarding the Eminent Domain action to acquire an easement for the purpose of extending Gary Drive to Brockport-Spencerport Road.
