Registration underway for Sunnking’s e-Scrap for Camp fundraiser
Regional electronics recycler Sunnking has launched registration for its 2022 e-Scrap for Camp fundraiser benefitting Camp Good Days and Special Times, a non-profit organization that improves the quality of life for children, adults, and families whose lives have been affected by cancer.
Businesses and organizations in the Rochester and Buffalo areas are encouraged to sign-up to participate for free at eScrapforCamp.com. The registration deadline is February 4, 2022. Businesses will collect electronics from their company, employees, friends, and family members for two weeks. Sunnking provides boxes to gather those devices and offers free, contactless delivery and pickup. For every pound of electronics recycled from participating organizations during the fundraiser, a portion of the proceeds is donated to Camp Good Days to fund future programs. Collections begin on February 28 in the Rochester area and May 2 in the Buffalo area.
“We live in these communities and do business in these communities, so to partner with hundreds of other companies on this campaign allows us to all come together despite the current conditions affecting our area,” said Adam Shine, Vice President of Sunnking. “I love knowing this is a chance every year for local organizations to make a big impact and put some big smiles on the faces of these kids.”
“The money we receive from this recycling campaign help our kids go to sporting events, concerts, festivals, and a lot of the activities that they love. It’s a small break from the health battles they’re each fighting,” said Lisa Booz, WNY regional director of Camp Good Days & Special Times. “Cancer doesn’t stop during a pandemic, and neither does Camp Good Days. So, in part because of fundraisers like e-Scrap for Camp and the businesses that participate, we’ve been able to provide our camp experiences continually throughout these past two years.”
2022 marks the 12th year Sunnking has held the e-Scrap for Camp fundraiser throughout Western New York and the Finger Lakes Region. Last year, 353 businesses contributed as Sunnking gifted $13,357 to the non-profit. Sunnking has donated more than $128,000 throughout the program’s existence. To date, the program has recycled nearly 5.6 million pounds of electronics.
