OES Chapter hears presentation on Erie Canal history

The Lift Bridge Chapter #57 of the Order of the Eastern Star, which meets at the Masonic Temple on Union Street in Spencerport, hosted a presentation on the Erie Canal on January 4. Simon Devenish, Director of the Spencerport Depot and Canal Museum shared the story of the Erie Canal and dozens of historical images of its construction and the village of Spencerport over the last two centuries. Members found it to be a very educational and enlightening evening.  

The Museum, located in the village of Spencerport aside the canal is open from May through October to coincide with the seasonal canal schedule. For information, email director@spencerportmuseum.org  

The Order of the Eastern Star is part of the Masonic family. It is a fraternal organization for both men and women based on charity, truth, and loving kindness.
