Finger Lakes Opera singers to perform in Brockport on February 20

Soprano Starletta Noll-Long and baritone Jordan Bachmann, with pianist Kevin Nitsch, will perform in the second of Brockport’s four 2022 Winter Serenades. The concert series continues at 3 p.m. on Sunday, February 20, at St Luke’s Episcopal Church, on the corner of Main and State Streets, Brockport. The series is family-friendly and free, with no tickets required. As with all Village activities, current COVID guidelines will be followed. There is ample space within the church for people to sit distanced from others. The performance can also be viewed on YouTube via a link on the stlukes.org website.

The lively program of familiar opera arias and songs from well-known musicals begins with “Oh what a beautiful morning” from Oklahoma! and continues with a  wide array of solos and duets. The FLO’s July 2021 Summer Serenades performance ended with a standing ovation and this event is expected to be equally popular.

Pennsylvania native Starletta Noll-Long studied Music Performance in voice at Susquehanna University and Binghamton University. In her studies, roles Starletta has sung include Suor Angelica and La Maestra delle Novizie in Suor Angelica, Amelia in Un Ballo in Maschera, Santuzza in Cavalleria Rusticana, and Giulietta in Les contes d’Hoffmann in scenes.

In 2019, Starletta was a young artist with Finger Lakes Opera where she performed scenes including Josephine in H.M.S. Pinafore and La Contessa in Le Nozze di Figaro in addition to being cast as the narrator in the children’s opera Jack and the Beanstalk. She also sang in FLO’s 2019 productions of La Bohème

In recent years she has been actively performing in local theatre, choral and orchestral venues across the Greater Susquehanna Valley, including the Susquehanna Valley Chorale, and the Williamsport Symphony Orchestra. She currently resides as a choir section leader and soloist at United Presbyterian Church of Binghamton.

Jordan Bachman, an active performer in the Rochester community, is a 2017 graduate of SUNY Geneseo with a BA in Voice Performance. He works part-time as the Bass Soloist/Section Leader at Asbury First UMC and full time as a Senior 401k Operations Analyst at Paychex. He also teaches private voice lessons.

This past summer Jordan was seen in Finger Lakes Opera’s production of The Barber of Seville, and has been in numerous other FLO productions over the years. He has performed in various concerts with JCC CenterStage, most recently Something Magical: Disney in Concert.

He serves on the Board of Directors for Pittsford Musicals, where he was seen as Prince Topher in Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella. Other credits include: Airness (Understudy, Geva Theater); Oklahoma! (Curly, JCC CenterStage); Sweeny Todd (Anthony, Pittsford Musicals); and Beauty and the Beast (Beast, RWCCT).
