OFC Creations presents Beauty and the Beast

OFC Creations will be presenting Disney’s Beauty and the Beast from February 18 to 20 at the OFC Creations Theatre Center, 3450 Winton Place, Rochester.

Audiences will step into the enchanted world of the “tale as old as time.” Based on the Academy Award-winning animated feature, the stage version includes all of the songs written by Alan Menken along with new songs.

Featuring OFC’s teen students. The classic story tells of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed into his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.

The production is directed by J. Simmons, an actor, director, fight choreographer, and private acting coach in Rochester. He has studied theatre for 31 years and has more than 26 years experience in professional and regional theater, locally and nationally. He has studied Ballet, Jazz, Modern, and classical vocal training in opera for 15 years. He has created multiple summer camps, and has done over 100 master classes at area schools, programs, and colleges.

Performances of Beauty and the Beast are Friday, February 18, at 7 p.m.; Saturday, February 19, at 3 p.m.; Saturday, February 19, at 7 p.m.; and Sunday, February 20, at 3 p.m.
