March Mayhem basketball returns to Churchville-Chili
After a two-year restriction due to COVID, the Churchville-Chili LEO Club’s annual March Mayhem benefit basketball game returns on Saturday, March 19, at 1 p.m. in the Middle School Gym C.
This game will benefit the Burtner family. Their daughter, Eliana, is a nine-year-old third-grader at Churchville Elementary School. Eliana was born with Spina Bifida and has had ten surgeries already. She has a sweet and spunky personality with a wonderful smile. Eliana enjoys her friends and wheelchair sports as part of the Rochester Rookies Team. The Burtner family needs a newer used wheelchair van to facilitate her transportation. All proceeds collected at the game will be donated to that effort.
The LEO Club and the Unified Team will play along with Eliana’s classmates and CES staff and students. The boys and girls basketball teams at Churchville-Chili will also showcase their talents and abilities. Mary Pat Dewey, retired Hall of Fame Coach and P/E Teacher and former LEO Club Advisor, will officiate and attempt to provide some order to the mayhem.
The LEO Club, sponsored by the Churchville Lions Club, is in its 25th year of community service activities. Club advisors are Janelle Hernandez and Marty Molinari.
