Spring BFA Exhibition features five budding artists
The Spring 2022 BFA Thesis Art Exhibition will run from April 21 to May 8 at SUNY Brockport’s Tower Fine Arts Gallery at 180 Holley Street, Brockport. An opening reception will take place on April 21 from 4 to 6 p.m. The exhibit is free and open to the public. Gallery hours for this exhibition are Monday through Friday, noon to 5 p.m., and Sunday, 1 to 4 p.m. For information, call 395-2805.
Showing their work will be Andrea Beadling, sculpture; Jordan Brown, photography; Samantha Nickerson, sculpture; Samantha Symonds, printmaking; and Rebekah Ugenti, ceramics.
Earlier this year Symonds had three works accepted into the competitive, juried Best of SUNY exhibition in Albany. Her work will be on display for one year at the SUNY Plaza Gallery. SUNY student art exhibits – whether on individual campuses or system-wide – are “a graphic illustration of the value of art and art programs at our schools and on our campuses,” according to the Best of SUNY Art Show website. “Additionally, they provide important exposure and an opportunity for experiential learning for the remarkable artists represented.” Symonds has also been accepted into the University of Georgia’s Study Abroad Program in Cortona, Italy, where she will continue her Printmaking studies, as well as the history of the Italian Renaissance and Book Making.
