Brockport Chorus celebrates spring with song
The Brockport College-Community Chorus, led by music director Elizabeth Banner, will celebrate spring – and the conclusion of the 2021-22 Fine Arts Series – with their “Light Sings!” program on Saturday, May 7, at 7:30 p.m. The concert will take place in the Tower Fine Arts Center, 180 Holley Street, Brockport.
“Given that we have finally emerged from a gray, cocoon-like Rochester winter into the bright sunshine of spring – not to mention the long pandemic – we are experiencing light and lightness in a variety of ways. What better way to experience light than with song?” relayed Banner. The program she has curated is indeed like a spring varietal: It includes country-western music by Dolly Parton, some liturgical music, Broadway, and some music made famous by the likes of Ellie Goulding, Mumford & Sons, and The Voice winner, Jordan Smith.
Tickets are $17/general, $12/senior citizens, Brockport alumni, faculty, and staff, and $9/students, and are available online at http://fineartstix.brockport.edu, by phone at 395-2787, or in person. SUNY Brockport’s COVID-19 prevention guidelines can be found on the ticketing website, the Fine Arts Series Facebook page, and at brockport.edu/coronavirus/spring_2022. Compliance with campus protocols is required in order to attend any performances or events.
