The Hilton-Parma Senior Center is offering a new monthly program where a local presenter will speak about an interesting topic or history, followed by pizza. All presentations will occur on the fourth Monday of the month with most presentations in the morning followed by a lunch of pizza and a beverage.
Registration is underway for the Monday, June 27 program, which begins at 10:30 a.m. The presentation will be about the Village of Hilton with the Village Historian, Dave Crumb, who has a wealth of knowledge on local history. Topics include the fire of 1965 on Main Street, the Old Hojack Railroad, Heinz Vinegar plant, and a few other topics. A question and answer session will be available. Pre-registration is required, and the fee is $5 per participant.
For those who like to plan ahead, July’s program will feature Mike O’Brian, The Getaway Guy from Channel 9, who brings 24 years experience with local, New York State getaways. O’Brian will discuss great hidden travel treasures for this summer and fall, plus a few surprises, too. To register or for information, call 392-9030.
