The Town of Sweden is working with the Town of Clarendon to expand access to public water on a portion of Monroe Orleans County Line Road. Letters were mailed this week to Sweden residents who will have the opportunity to tie into Clarendon’s existing water line and some who will have the opportunity to work with Sweden and Clarendon to extend the line a bit further.
Clarendon and Sweden entered an intermunicipal out-of-district user arrangement in 2014 for part of the County Line Road. This new effort is to remind some residents that public water is available if they so choose and to extend the service, if desired and financially practical.
Sweden continues to pursue public water expansion although changes with some of the federal funding have disqualified the Town from some programs for the time being.
