On May 21, the Kiwanis Club of Brockport collaborated with the staff of Seymour Library to once again hold their annual Read Around the World reading and bookmark event. They hosted the largest group of young readers in recent memory, and were able to hold the event outside on the library grounds. Guest readers were Sean Bruno, Superintendent of the Brockport School District, Paul Wheat of the Brockport Police Department, and Brigitte Duschen, Kiwanis Club member. “Brock” of the Brockport Police Canine Unit also attended. At the conclusion of the event, the Kiwanis Club held an ice cream social for all who participated. The club appreciates the efforts of Jennifer Caccavale, director of the Seymour Library, in support of this event, and extends their thanks to the guest readers and Kiwanians who participated. There were big smiles all around.
