Rotary Reads celebrates Christmas in July
Only two more Wednesday evening storytimes remain this summer
Ginther School Principal Randall Yu brought his own audience to Rotary Reads in the Park on July 27. The fun of hearing stories in the park attracted two other families with children. Mr. Yu read the book Snowmen At Night to the delight of the children. He also brought a bubble machine to use between the stories. Verelynn C. and her grandfather who sailed to Brockport along the Erie Canal enjoyed the evening. Her grandmother thought it was a fun thing to do.
There are only two more evenings of Rotary Reads in the Park, which are held on Wednesdays from 7 to 8 p.m. at Harvester Park in Brockport.
On Wednesday, August 3, the theme will be “Suddenly It Is Fall.” It is late summer now, yet change is coming. Sometime in the middle of August the weather whispers, “The chill is coming. First autumn and then winter.” The weather seems to go back to the heat and humidity of late summer, but change is coming. Donations collected this evening will support early literacy efforts for universal pre-k through first grade students to help them go to new heights in reading.
August 10 is a night to celebrate “Things that Go!” Sergeant Hagen of the Brockport Police Department will be the guest reader. Children are encouraged to bring their favorite toy that goes zoom! The donation jar for this evening will benefit the Stetson Club of Brockport.
