Holley High School Class of 1957 celebrates its 65th reunion

The Holley High School Class of 1957 has met yearly for the past 15 years (except the last two Covid years) and every five years from the 10th through 50th year reunions. Sadly, the numbers have dwindled over the past few years with the aging of class members. Out of a graduating class of 47 members, 19 (including 3 guests) were present for the reunion at 58 Main BBQ & Brew in Brockport, and about 15 made it for cheesecake at an “After Party” at the home of Pat Ellis Baker last month. With the exception of one meeting, Pat and Bev Lane Brennan have continued as event organizers.

During the pandemic, the class lost Joybell (Germeo) Oestringer, Sandra (Gillette) Bower, Gail (Ruck) Ward, Marcia (Howard) Dodson, Magdaline (Salerno) Jenks, and Evelyn (Jenkins) De Luca. Mike Boccaccio passed before the 2019 meeting and Tom Baker passed a few days before the 2022 meeting. Tom’s wife, Ginger, insisted on paying the tab for this year’s reunion. It was one of Tom’s last requests as he loved Holley, his classmates, and the reunions.

All three McAllisters attended with (l-r) Fran McAllister; wife Jean; Gerry’s wife, Karen (Comden); and Bev (Lane) Brennan. They had been looking at some of Bev’s extensive photo collection.
Class member Julie Rinas Youngs (left) traveled the farthest (from Ohio) and was accompanied on the trip by her daughter, granddaughter and great grandson, so four generations were represented.
